Are you ready for another Sims 2 Challenge? After all, there are lots of them out there. I am a challenge player. I have never
written a challenge, ever. However I was playing one day and realized my Sim had promoted up through the ranks at her job simply
because she was dating her co worker. Why was that unusual? Because she had no skills. Her co worker was 'pulling strings' for her
at work, resulting in promotions.
I thought, wow! What an idea for a challenge! I asked my Simming friends their opinions about it, we played various aspirations and different careers. The end result: A challenge for the Simming community called String Me. This is about using everything built into the game to get your Sim promoted to the top of her or his job without skilling them. Yes, it can be done. See the pictures below of Sims who have worked to the top of their career in my game without skilling: |

This is Branson. He is a Fortune Sim and was worked through the Athletic career all the way to the top using Outings in the game. It also resulted in a permanent platinum status for him. |

Danielle is a very outgoing Popularity Sim who dated her way to the top. Look where it got her! She is gonna be a momma. |

Edmund is a Family Sim with a desire to be a Captain Hero. *surprise surprise*. He worked to the top dating. But very unhappy about it the whole way; he constantly wanted to get married. He wanted to marry everybody he dated. |

Margaret is also a Popularity Sim who wanted to join Branson in the Athletic world; but alas, I worked her to the to top of the Culinary career. |

Rose is a Romance Sim who did very well dating her way to the top, naturally. |
| Here is a short blog written by Robin who tested the challenge. String Me Along.
As you can see, all these Sims got to the top of their careers without skilling. Well, almost. The few skills they have were either given to them by the game, or earned by them. The Sim can only earn skills that are not needed for their job. The best thing about this challenge is that it doesn't matter what EP's you have or don't have. It contains modules designed for each EP. For instance, if you only own University, then there is a University module contained in the rules. If you also own Pets, there is a Pets module. Or you can not play any modules at all, just do the challenge with the base game. So, do you think you can do it? Ok. You can download the short rules HERE. There is a Yahoo Group dedicated to the challenge. If you would like to discuss the challenge whilst you are playing it, maybe get some pointers from others who have worked a Sim to the top without skilling, you can join right here.
Thank you to Robin, Java Jan, Ruby, Infinity Nevermore, Just Lynn and her husband Ron for testing the challenge.
If you play this challenge and blog it, announce it on the String Me Yahoo Group, or sign this guestbook and I will link your blog here.
