Meet Our Cats...Princess, Spunkey, Jinn, Link, and Zorro

We have always had cats in our home. This part of our website is dedicated to our pals, our cats.

rose This is Moe. He was the Boss Of The Cats. He passed away in 2008, died blissfully of old age at the age of 13. He was born under my then 2 year old's daughter's bed in 1995. His daddy was a wild bob cat, his momma was a pure black cat who later turned wild after she had Moe. When other felines came and went from our home, Moe made sure it was always understood between them all that Moe Is Boss. However, he was the biggest baby in the world when it came to his humans. Moe loved to be petted and held, and insisted that one of us stick our finger in his food to stir it up before he took a bite. LOL He is sorely missed.

rose Summer - 2000 - This is Princess. My then 7 year old daughter and I adopted her from the Humane Society of Kanawha Co in West Virginia. We had gone to Petsmarts one day to do some shopping, and we saw this beautiful calico sitting so prim and proper in a huge cage, with her eyes shut. In the cage with her were two siamese cats, obviously litter mates, wrapped around each other. I said to my daughter, "Why look at that beautiful calico, sitting there just like a princess." That was all it took! The lady from the Humane Society took this Princess out of the cage for us to hold. After doing some paper work, she was on her way out the door with us. We just couldn't leave her. That was in 2000.

rose October 12, 2003 - I got Spunkey from a lady who had him and his brother, sister, and mother in a cat carrier in the back of her pickup giving away away all the babies. This picture of Sunkey was taken with my cell phone. At the time he had an infatuation with this little stuffed animal.... Adorable.

rose Jinn is now Boss of the Cats. He was always jockeying for position when Moe was alive, but stood back respectfully until the position opened up. My husband referrs to Jinn as the mousse cat...his fur is so beautiful, that if he were a person, my husband could imagine him in front of the mirror constantly styling his hair. We got Jinn from the Humane Society of Kanawha County, on a lark.

rose Last but not least are the two youngsters, Link and Zorro. We got Link in May of 2009 as a kitten from the Humane Society of Kanawha County. He was a gift to my daughter for her birthday. Zorro came to us in July of 2010, he was playing in the street about a block from our house with his litter mates. My daughter was walking buy, and a gentleman was there and begged my daughter to take one of the kittens as our town was threatening to take them to the pound. So she did. She chose Zorro. He is half wild, we can't touch him unless he is sleepy. He and Link are best buddies.

The two older boys, Spunkey and Jinn spend most of their time outdoors. They don't even use the litterbox, they will sit by the door when it is time to "go" and paitently wait for someone to come open it. However, Princess is a strict housecat...never cries to go outside. Link is a bit of a scardey cat. He will cry to go outside, then the moment a car goes by, or someone walks by, he is hanging off the front door crying to go in. Zorro was not allowed outside when he first came to live with us, my daughter was fearful he would run down the street to his old home. But now that he has been with us a while, he doesn't attempt a run for the door anymore.

Hey..have you ever wondered what our cats do with their litter boxes when we aren't looking????

And of course, our cats leave us lots of presents...
